Yardley Street Hobart Weatherboard Restoration
Wolfe’s Painting recently completed this full exterior restoration project on Yardley Street in Hobart, transforming an ageing weatherboard home with failing roof coatings into a modern, refreshed finish designed to last in Tasmania’s harsh conditions.

Gaps, joints and imperfections throughout the exterior were then filled and caulked where required to improve both appearance and weather resistance. Rather than relying on spot priming alone, the prepared surfaces received a full primer system prior to top coating to help achieve a more even and durable finish across the entire home.
Due to Hobart’s constantly changing weather conditions, preparation is one of the most important parts of any exterior restoration project and plays a major role in the long-term performance of the coating system.
This Yardley Street restoration project was a great example of how proper preparation and attention to detail can completely transform an older Hobart home.
From heavily deteriorated roof coatings through to extensive weatherboard preparation, every stage of the project focused on creating a finish that not only looked modern but would also provide long-term durability against Tasmania’s constantly changing weather conditions.
The final colour transformation modernised the home significantly while still maintaining the character and architectural detail that make many older Hobart properties unique.
